Infrared Sauna Therapy..

What you didn’t know about our amazing sauna - and why you need it in your life right now!

SAUNA

When it comes to saunas, not all are created equal. We’ve put together an in depth look into the limitations of traditional saunas and the amazing health benefits of the latest Infrared Sauna Therapy (it’s one of our most popular treatments at Eco Spa for a reason!)..

Adding regular sessions of Infrared Sauna Therapy into your self-care regime will bring lacklustre skin back to life, regulate the body’s ability to shed unwanted toxins and reduce the appearance of cellulite in the skin.

OLD VS. NEW..

Traditional (old-fashioned) saunas work by heating the surface of the skin, which then warms the underlying muscles and tissues of the body. Excessive time spent within a traditional sauna can lead to heat-related exhaustion and eventually dehydration.

The inside of these generic saunas is often overly humid as water is heated electronically or by a stove, in order to heat and humidify the room through the release of steam, which will then cause the body to break into a sweat.

Generally speaking, most health and recreation centres only recommend that you spend a maximum of 15-20mins inside the sauna at any one time.

This is one way an Infrared Sauna is dramatically different; as the heaters warm the body in the same manner as natural sunlight.

TRADITIONAL VS INFRARED..

Another significant point of difference between traditional styles of saunas and Infrared saunas, comes down to what type and how many toxins you detox.

During a sweat analysis comparison, it was determined that infrared saunas produce sweat containing 80% water and 20% toxins whilst traditional steam saunas produce sweat containing 97% water and only 3% in toxins.

An infrared sweat will also contain cholesterol, fat soluble toxins, heavy metals (mercury, aluminium and arsenic), nicotine, sulphuric acid and ammonia, as opposed to only water and sodium chloride (salt) from traditional saunas!

FULL SPECTRUM INFRARED WAVES..

For those of you who get a little nervous when we start talking about invisible light bands like infrared, it is important to note that the sun produces most of its energy output in the infrared segment of the spectrum.

However, unlike sunbathing, infrared sauna use will not cause your skin to burn and is perfectly safe!

Infrared heat therapy uses the wavelength of the visible and non-visible light spectrum of sunlight that heats the body normally.

These increase the body’s core temperature and as a result create a very deep and detoxifying sweat from within the cellular level of the skin where many toxins are housed.

Not only is your time inside an Infrared Sauna incredibly relaxing and enjoyable, but it’s also completely beneficial for your overall health, deep on a cellular level.

The full spectrum of wavelengths is NEAR, MID and FAR:

NEAR

THE SHORTEST WAVELENGTH IN THE SPECTRUM WHICH WORKS ON THE SURFACE

-Natural Botox

-Skin rejuvenation

-Wound healing

-Complexion

-Reduces inflammation on top of the skin

-Cell health

MID

THE MIDDLE WAVELENGTH

-Inflammation

-Pain Relief

-Blood circulation

-Weight loss & burning calories

FAR

THE LONGEST WAVELENGTH OF THE SPECTRUM

-Reaches deep into the body

-Breaks down toxins and fat

-Increases core temperature

-Transforms cells

-Fights disease

-Blood Pressure reduction

-Cholesterol and blood sugar reduction

-Relaxation

-Strengthens immune system by creating an ‘artificial’ fever

The health benefits really are endless. In summary, Infrared Sauna sessions work on ridding the body of nasty toxins, help with detoxification, pain relief, increased circulation, weight loss, lowered blood pressure + cellulite reduction and even removal
